75 Hour Broker's Pre-license Class
This is for the entry level license for becoming a real estate agent. It is designed to fulfill the Illinois required 75 hours of education to earn an Illinois Real Estate Broker's License. A minimum of 15 hours of the course is required, by the state, to be interactive, instructor-led learning.
60 Hours Topic Courses
The topic courses are available as a classroom setting located at the real estate school. The 60 hours are voluntary attendance.
15 Hours Applied Real Estate Principles
The required 15 hours are given in a classroom format, which include mandatory attendance.
A Proctored Final Exam
A 150 question final exam is required with a minimum passing score of 75%. The final exam can be taken four times before having to repeat the 75 hour course. Upon passing the 75 hour course, students have up to two years to take the required state exam.
Materials Provided
Flexible-Learning Binder with supplemental materials and ten unit exams, Real Estate Examination Program Candidate Handbook by AMP, and Modern Real Estate Practice in Illinois 10th Edition.
Course cost is a one time fee of $485. Payment is due prior to the day of the first session. Payment type includes check payable to Crosby Academy.
The cost for the optional study software application is a fee of $100 for 6 month subscription.
AFTER THE COURSE
Once you complete the course and pass your final exam, the fee for the IL state exam for broker licensing is $60.
Once you pass the IL state exam for a broker licensing, the application fee for the license is $125.
Once you obtain your official real estate license, you may choose to join an Association of Realtors, which gives you MLS access. The fees for such are varied and typically consist of a one-time application fee, pro-rated association dues, and prorated MLS fees. These totals vary due to the pro-rations and can range between $700-$1200 depending on the time of year of joining membership.
Another additional fee is the electronic service that is necessary to gain access to MLS listings for showings. This service fee varies depending on which Association of Realtors you join. The fee can range from $45-$180.
